The disc brake is the most common and necessary for most motorcycles. The operating principle of the disc braking system is that a disk is installed which is in synchronous revolution with the wheels and calipers are installed on the front fork and the frame. The braking block in the calipers is used to clamp the disc to achieve the purpose of braking.
F:free machining state
This is applicable to the products with special requirements for hardening and thermal treatment conditions during the forming process. No mechanical properties are specified for the product in this state. (Uncommon)
O:annealing state
This is applicable to the machined products with the lowest strength acquired after full annealing. (Occasional)
H:hardening state
This is applicable to the products with improved strength after hardening. After hardening, the product can(or can’t) be subjected to additional thermal treatment which reduces strength.
W:solution heat treatment
This is an unstable state on applicable to the natural aging alloys under room temperature after solution heat treatment. This state code only means that the product is in the natural aging stage.
T:Thermal treatment state (different from F, O and F states)
This is applicable to the stable products achieved by hardening (or not) after thermal treatment. The code T must be followed by one or several Arabic numbers (usually for the materials reinforced by thermal treatment).
The common state code on the back of the aluminium alloy reinforced by thermal treatment is usually letter T followed by one or more Arabic numbers which indicate further information.
The 0-10 Arabic numbers followed T are used to indicate subdivided states (called TX state). The number following T indicates the thermal treatment procedure for the product.
With primary alloying elements magnesium and silicon, alloy aluminum 6061 T6 features medium strength, good corrosion resistance, weldability and good oxidation effect and is widely used in various industrial structural parts with requirements of a certain strength (85 – 100 degrees) and high corrosion resistance, such as trucks, tower buildings, ships, trams, railway vehicles, mechanical parts for furniture, precision machining, and moulds.

In 2018, a customer asked this question. Actually the answer is very simple. Every custom CNC milled parts manufacturer must know that the thermal treatment process for 6061 aluminum T6 is not related to its content of magnesium. Why? Yijin Hardware will give you an explanation.
1.6060 is an Al-Mg-Siwrought aluminium alloy. The failure of it hardness not meeting requirements is possibly because that neither magnesium nor silicon (and other minor elements) does not meet the requirements or the thermal treatment process is improper.

2.After welding, the hardness reduces. It causes a problem to thermal treatment because other parts do not get soft. There is another problem that thermal treatment leads to deformation with thin walls and needs to be solved for finished products.
3.The difference between 6061 aluminum sheets in the T6 state and T651 state is the former normally has larger internal stress and deforms during machining. It is preferably machined in the T651 state where it is stretched to eliminate the internal stress based on T6. The primary alloying elements of the 606 aluminum alloy are magnesium and silicon which forms the Mg2Si phase. If a certain amount of manganese and chromium are contained, the adverse effects of iron can be neutralized. Sometimes a small amount of cooper or zinc is added for enhanced strength, although with the corrosion resistance slightly reduced. The conductive materials also contains a small amount of copper to offset the adverse effects of titanium and iron on electroconductibility. Zirconium or titanium can refine crystal grains and control recrystallization. To improve machinability, lead and bismuth can be added. Solid solution treatment can be performed for Mg2Si into aluminum to enable the alloy to have the manual age hardening feature. With primary alloying elements magnesium and silicon, alloy aluminum 6061 T6 features medium strength, good corrosion resistance, weldability and good oxidation effect.
