Description
About Material Q235
The Q235 plain carbon structural steel is also known as the A3 steel.
The plain carbon structural steel – general sheet is a type of steel material.
Q standards for the yield limit of this material, and the following 235 refers to its value, about 235 MPa. The yield value decreases as the sheet thickness increases. (thickness/diameter≤16mm, yield strength=235MPa; 16mm<thickness/diameter≤40mm, yield strength=225MPa;40mm<thickness/diameter≤60mm, yield strength=215MPa;60mm<thickness/diameter≤100mm, yield strength=205MPa;100mm<thickness/diameter≤150mm, yield strength=195MPa;150mm<thickness/diameter≤200mm, yield strength=185MPa)
Because of low content of carbon, good comprehensive performances, and good coordination among properties like strength, plasticity, and weldability, it is used the most widely.
Its steel grade is indicated with a combination of Q+numbers+quality grade symbol+deoxidation method symbol. Q stands for the yield point of the steel, the following numbers refers to its value, and the unit is MPa. For example, Q235 refers to the carbon structural steel with a yield stress (σs) of 235 MPa.
About the purpose of Q235:
Q235 is a type of steel and a grade of plain carbon structural steel. No alloying elements are specially added in Q235, and Q stands for the yield strength. With yield strength of 235 MPa, Q235 is mainly applicable to the multiple rolled steel bars, profile steel and steel plates but not seamless tubes in the construction field. It is also applicable to bridges, workshop buildings, ships and other buildings and projects, without thermal treatment. Q345 is a steel grade indicating a type of low-alloy high-strength steel. With a small amount of alloying elements contained, Q345 is mainly used for buildings and engineering structures, and has wide application in various welding structures, such as bridges, vehicles, ships, pipelines, boilers, large containers, storage tanks, heavy machinery, mining machinery, power stations, workshop building structures, low-temperature pressure vessels, and mechanical parts for light industry and textile industry.

1.It is used for buildings and engineering structures and to manufacture rebars or workshop building frames, high voltage transmission towers, bridges, vehicles, boilers, containers, and ships, as well as mechanical parts with not very high performance requirements in quantity. Steel of grades C and D can also be used as some professional steels.

3.The plunger chips made of steel Q235 can be used directly after quenching, without the need of tempering. With its hardness of 36~40 HRC, the problem of plunger chip fracture during service is solved.
The Q235 plain carbon structural steel is also known as the A3 steel. Q standards for the yield limit of this material, and the following 235 refers to its value, about 235 MPa. 4.It can be used to manufacture fasteners like screws and nuts which are in wide application. Because of particularity of this material, the screws and nuts normally require no thermal treatment after production, and the hardness meets requirements. Therefore, a lot of customers in the furniture industry prefer Q235 when choosing custom screw materials.

Application scope of the Custom Connecting Studs
The stud, also known as double-end screw or double-end bolt, is used to connect machinery for fixing and linking functions. A stud has threads on both ends, with a thick or thin rod. Studs are usually used for mining machinery, bridges, cars, motorcycles, boiler steel structures, head masts, big span steel structures and large buildings. The bolt refers to a screw with a larger diameter, with or without a cap, The most common model of the stud is the one with threads on both ends but not in the middle. Its typical application includes foundation bolts, or places similar to foundation bolts, thick connections, and the case where common bolts can not be used. When a device has a large body and requires accessories such as sight glasses, mechanical seal seats, and decelerating racks, studs are used, with one end screwed into the body and the other fixed with nuts after accessories are mounted. Because of frequent accessory removal, the threads wear or get damaged. With studs, the replacement can be performed easily. When the connecting body is very thick and requires very long bolts, studs are used. Studs are also used to connect thick plates and for the case where it is not convenient to use hex bolts for connection, such as concrete roof trusses, roof beams, suspension monorails, and beam suspension components.
In practical operation, something like vibrations and changes of the external as well as the material’s high-temperature creep causes the friction to decrease. The thread’s negative, neural and positive pressures disappear all of a sudden, leading to zero friction and casing the screw joint to become loose. If this case occurs frequently, the screw joint will become loose and fail. Therefore, looseness prevention is required, or normal operation will be affected, causing accidents. The studs are manufactured following the DIN938 standard, with materials Q235, 45#, 40Cr, 35CrMoA and Q345D and specifications M3mm-M100mm and customizable length per customer requirements. High-strength studs made from 35#, 45#, 35CrMoA, 25Cr2MoV, 304, 316, 304L, 316L, 2H, 2HM, B7, B7M, B16, B8, 8, B8M and 8M are widely used in various fields, including electric power, chemical engineering, oil refining, valves, railways, bridges, steel structures, and automobile&motorcycle accessories.
